I am a Couture Designer specialising in Corsetry, Lingerie, Evening Wear, Corseted Bridal and Ball Gowns.
In my work I have been lucky enough to receive comissions from Sir Hardy Amies Royal Couturier, London and Rigby and Peller Royal Corsetiers, London.
Over the last 15yrs my Couture Corsetry designs have been seen in some of London's best boutiques, some excellent Welsh boutiques and has been shown several times on Television and in Magazines.
I have designed and made Historical and Theatrical Costume and organised marketing events for Jewelry, Arts, Fashion and beautifully crafted Gifts, created by myself and other designers.
Craft, Innovation and Technology interest me greatly.
Studying Costume History and Art History I was always fascinated by the resourcefulness of our forebears, the human desire to explore and develop ideas.
This year I have been invited to join the Research Team at Newport's SMART CLOTHES AND WEARABLE TECHNOLOGY - a huge honour and a chance to progress with new designs.
As a nominated member of Wales Innovators' Network - a supporting organisation for inventors and innovators, I have had the wonderful opportunity of exhibiting my work at The BRITISH FEMALE INVENTORS AND INNOVATORS SHOW, London, The SALON DES INVENTIONS, GENEVA and the BRITISH INVENTION SHOW, London.
My new company "INSPIRED BY RUBY" is dedicated to developing lingerie garments that will improve the lives of women everywhere.
The Award winning "EVERYDAY CORSET" is a garment that women can wear at any time, to alter their figure in exactly the same way that a corset would yet does not rely upon 19thC technology to achieve this.
The "EVERYDAY CORSET" achieves many health benefits in addition - the "EVERYDAY CORSET" has been created utilising aspects of modern technology to address many issues of physicality and well being.
